ROAD Work
Reviving Our American Democracy is a non-partisan, advocacy group in West Michigan. Formed following the 2010 elections, local folks organized around the belief an educated citizenry is critical to sustaining democracy. With that as its guiding mission, ROAD endeavors to raise awareness of local, state and national issues which threaten our democracy and the common good through public forums and guest speakers.
Although ROAD members may have their own, sometimes passionately held, personal political leanings and beliefs, the organization remains non-partisan. ROAD does not endorse political candidates, but does provide a forum to discuss and evaluate policies free from political influence. Our candidate forums are appreciated by voters who are able to question party hopefuls in a smaller setting, learn their positions on issues and policies, and share local concerns.
ROAD is also a conduit for advocacy, such as supporting ballot initiatives, meeting with policy makers or contacting elected officials.
